പ്രതിഷ്ഠാദിന മഹോത്സവം 2026 കാലികാവിൽ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം പാലക്കാട് | Prathishtadina Mahotsavam 2026 Kalikavil Bhagavathi Temple Palakkad
The Prathishtadina Mahotsavam at Kalikavil Bhagavathi Temple in Palakkad is one of the most revered annual celebrations in the region, attracting devotees from near and far. Organized by the Viswakarma Samajam, Kizhakkethara, Mathur, this festival is a time of spiritual devotion, cultural richness and communal harmony.
The event spans several days, beginning with the ceremonial flag hoisting which marks the official commencement of the festivities and invites the blessings of the deity for a prosperous and harmonious year ahead.
Throughout the festival, the temple premises come alive with a series of traditional rituals and poojas carefully conducted according to age old customs. Special Ganapathi Homam and Usha Pooja sessions are performed in the mornings to invoke divine grace and remove obstacles for devotees. The Vilakku Pooja performed with rows of sacred lamps creates a mesmerizing spiritual ambiance highlighting the temple’s deep-rooted devotion practices.
The evenings are marked by the vibrant Thalam Ezhunnallippu, a ceremonial procession accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Pandimelam performed by talented local percussionists. The procession is a visual and auditory spectacle showcasing Kerala’s traditional music and temple art forms. Devotional offerings by community groups such as the Youth Wing of Puthrassery add to the festive spirit symbolizing the collective faith and dedication of the devotees.
Another highlight of the festival is the Manasa Japa Lahari, a devotional mental chanting program where participants engage in silent or vocal recitation of sacred mantras. This practice not only fosters inner peace and spiritual focus but also brings the community together in a shared act of devotion.
