It is believed to be the divine birthday of Bhagavathy, the temple’s principal deity, making it one of the most important occasions in the temple calendar.
The rituals and ceremonies conducted on this day are elaborate and spiritually uplifting. Under the guidance of the Temple Tantri, a series of traditional offerings and sacred observances are performed to honor the deity and invoke blessings for the devotees and the community. Key rituals include the Udayastamana Pooja, a continuous worship that spans from sunrise to sunset, symbolizing the uninterrupted devotion to the Goddess throughout the day. Other important ceremonies include the Navakam, a powerful Vedic ritual involving nine offerings; Panchagavyam, a purifying ritual using five sacred substances from the cow; and Sribhutabali, offerings made to divine spirits and guardian deities associated with the temple.
The temple is beautifully adorned with Niramala and Chuttuvilakku, creating a divine and festive ambiance.
