Manalarukavu Bhagavathy is revered as the guardian deity of 96 desams (localities), extending from Ottapilavu to Thrithala. The temple performs three daily poojas. Historically, the temple was under the ownership of Vadakke Veettil Nambiyar, but it is now managed by a local committee under the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowment (HR&CE) Board. The Palakkattiri Madom traditionally holds the Tantric rights for the temple.

Festivals

The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :

Annual Festival

The temple celebrates its Annual Festival every year. This is the most significant event in the temple calendar, during which elaborate rituals, special pujas, and perhaps cultural programs are conducted to honor the Goddess Mariamman. The specific dates for this festival would follow the temple's traditional calendar.

Abhisheka Alankara Pooja

While not a multi-day festival, Abhisheka Alankara Pooja is a prominent and regularly performed special ritual at the temple. This involves the ceremonial bathing of the deity (Abhisheka) followed by elaborate decoration (Alankara). Devotees can offer this puja to seek the Goddess's blessings. (Specific details about a second distinct, large-scale annual festival were not explicitly found, but this ritual is a key offering.)
