Historically, the temple was owned by Kozhikode Samoodhiripad - Eralpad, who had his "Kovilakam" in Karimpuzha. The temple is distinguished by its special offerings and pujas. A compelling myth associated with the temple is that Lord Rama is believed to have renounced his life in the Karimpuzha River, akin to the River Sarayu. Notably, it is said that Lord Hanuman accompanied Rama during his final moments, which led to the placement of Hanuman's deity within the temple premises. This blend of history, mythology, and spirituality makes the Karimpuzha Sree Ramaswamy Temple a unique and culturally rich site.
