The temple complex features two main shrines — Thazhekavu (lower shrine) and Melakavu (upper shrine), with Melakavu considered the older of the two.

A separate shrine for Lord Ganapathy in his Vidya Ganapati form is situated near the temple's iconic banyan tree, adding to the spiritual significance of the site.
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Chinakkathoor Pooram
Chinakkathoor Pooram is celebrated annually during the Makam star in the Malayalam month of Kumbham (February - March). A grand procession featuring 28 decorated elephants is the main highlight of the evening celebrations. The festival also showcases traditional art forms such as Panchavadyam, Vellattu, Theyyam, Poothan and Thira, Kaalavela, Kuthiravela, Aandi Vedan, and Karivela.
Tholppavakkoothu
Tholppavakkoothu, a traditional shadow puppet performance, is held at the temple premises every evening for 17 days leading up to the grand concluding festival.
