നവരാത്രിയുടെ ഒന്നാം ദിവസം ശൈലപുത്രിയായ ശ്രീപാർവ്വതിദേവിയെ സങ്കൽപ്പിച്ചാണ് ആരാധിക്കുന്നത്. പൂർവ്വജന്മത്തിലെ സതീദേവിയെപ്പോലെ ദേവി ഈ ജന്മത്തിലും പരമശിവൻ്റെ അർദ്ധാംഗിനിയാണ്. നവരാത്രി ആരംഭ ദിവസമായ ഒക്ടോബർ 5 ന് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ശ്രീപാർവ്വതീദേവിക്കും സതീദേവിക്കും വിശേഷാൽ വഴിപാടുകൾ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുന്നതാണ്.

Thiruvairanikkulam Mahadeva Temple Speciality
Thiruvairanikkulam Shiva Parvathy Temple boasts several remarkable features. Notably, the deities of Siva and Parvathy face opposite directions, a very rare aspect not seen in many other temples. Additionally, the sanctum of Goddess Parvathy is only accessible for twelve days a year. Lord Shiva, the chief deity, faces east, while Goddess Parvathidevi faces west. Devotees believe that the divine couple grants the boon of marriage to those who worship them.
The temple also features several other deities, including Lord Nandikeshwara, situated in front of the sanctum sanctorum, and Lord Vigneshwara, adjacent to the shrine, facing east. Outside Nalambalam, within the surrounding wall, are the idols of Sathidevi and Goddess Kali, who is revered for her devotion to her followers. Furthermore, Lord Dharmasastha, the Kaliyugavaradan, is placed in Kanni rasi, and the four-armed Lord Vishnu sits in Kumbham Rasi, facing east.
