Kadampuzha Bhagavathy temple, is located at a small town Kadampuzha in Malappuram District in Kerala. The presiding deity here is Sree Parvathy Devi in the form of Kirathi (hunter).
The specialty of this temple is that there is no deity in the Sree kovil but a small area is kept protected. Rig Veda laksharchana is a major event held in this temple in the malayalam month of dhanu (usually falls on january first week).

Rig Veda laksharchana falls in the malayalam month of dhanu. It is held under the auspices of a thanthri(main priest) and attended by a large number of vedic scholars. They chant the Rig Veda slokas simultaneously. It is performed for 8 days. The Rig Veda archana commences in the early hours every day and abhisheka will be performed in the evening. Cultural programs will be held during the first 7 days of the festival. It includes various temple arts and other stage programs. Kadhakali,ottanthullal, chakyaarkoothu and different classical dance forms like bharathanatyam, mohiniyattam etc are staged during festival period. Also musical concerts, kadhaprasangam, drama are performed. There is annadanam provided on all days.
