The Sree Viswambhara temple of Kottakal, Malapuram organises its annual festival to honour Dhanvantari, the patron God of medicine and health. A series of Indian classical music concerts by well-known artistes is organized as a part of the festival, along with other traditional performing arts of Kerala. Kottakkal Pooram is the annual festival at the Sree Vishwambara temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The Lord ofais incarnatrf as Dhanvanthari. The festival days are made jubilant with a variety of programmes. Eminent music maestros give Hindustani and Carnatic musical concerts each day. The panchavadya (traditional orchestra) performance is an awesome experience and people gather in hundreds to enjoy this.
