The Manjeri Pooram at Muthrukunnu Bhagavathy Temple, Manjeri, Malappuram, is a grand annual nine-day festival held from 18-26 Meenam (March-April), featuring majestic elephant processions, traditional melam, and vibrant cultural performances.

മലപ്പുറത്തെ മഞ്ചേരിയിലെ മുതൃകുന്ന് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ മഞ്ചേരി പൂരം 18 മുതൽ 26 വരെ മീനം (മാർച്ച്-ഏപ്രിൽ) വരെ നടക്കുന്ന ഒമ്പത് ദിവസത്തെ മഹത്തായ ഉത്സവമാണ്, ഗംഭീരമായ ആന ഘോഷയാത്രകളും പരമ്പരാഗത മേളങ്ങളും ചടുലമായ സാംസ്കാരിക പ്രകടനങ്ങളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.

Manjeri Pooram is one of the most famous temple festivals in Malappuram. The celebration is conceived as a thanksgiving to Goddess Durga, the presiding deity of the temple. The Goddess manifests Herself as Bala Durga (manifestation as a child) at this 2000-year-old temple. Manjeri Pooram Muthrukunnu Bhagavathy Temple  Manjeri Malappuram Kerala Ganapathy is the only sub deity. During the festival, the ritualistic Kalamezhuthum Pattum which is performed daily at the Melakkam Sree Kalikavu Bhagavathy Temple in the region is suspended until the Pooram festival ends at the Muthrukunnu Bhagavathy Temple.

Manjeri Pooram falls in the Malayalam month of Meenam. The festival commences with the Kodiyettam or flag hoisting ceremony followed by various rituals and ceremonies during the nine days of festivities. The Kalamezhuthum Pattum is a significant traditional ritual during the festival and comprises of drawing a picture of the Goddess with natural colours. The deity is taken out for the Aarattu (ritualistic bathing of the idol) as part of a spectacular elephant procession accompanied by traditional percussion music. The evenings are replete with cultural events ranging from musical concerts to classical dances and other performing arts. Thousands of people gather at the temple premises to offer prayers and witness the festivities.
