Situated on the banks of the Thutapuzha river, it's distinguished as the only temple in Kerala where Lord Shiva in his Rudra form and Dhanwantharimurthy are worshipped with equal importance.
Alongside, the temple houses other deities such as Ganapati, Subrahmanya, Shasta, Narada, Naga deities, and Brahmarakshas, enriching its spiritual significance. Devotees believe that engaging in Bhajan, Mrityunjaya Homam, and Dhanvanthari Pooja here fosters good health and well-being.
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Akhanda Nama Japa
Akhanda Nama Japa, a devotional practice, involves the continuous chanting of the divine names of God without interruption. This spiritual discipline is believed to invoke divine grace, purify the mind, and foster a deeper connection with the divine. Devotees often gather in groups to engage in Akhanda Nama Japa, creating an atmosphere of spiritual energy and devotion that transcends time and space.
Prathyaksha Ganapati Homam
Prathyaksha Ganapati Homam, a sacred ritual, is performed to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the provider of success and prosperity. Following the Homam, devotees partake in Anayoottu, a unique ritual of feeding elephants, symbolizing reverence and gratitude towards these majestic animals, who are considered embodiments of divine qualities. These rituals not only uphold tradition but also foster a sense of devotion and connection with the divine and nature.
