Prathishta Dina Maholsavam
Prathishta Dina Maholsavam at Kohinoor Sree Maha Ganapathi Temple is celebrated in the month of Edavam (May-June) with great devotion and enthusiasm. The festival includes the Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam, a sacred fire ritualperformed to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Kalasha Abhishekam, is performed to purify and sanctify the idol. Devotees also offer Unniyappam as vazhipadu, a traditional sweet made from rice, jaggery, and coconut, seeking prosperity and the removal of obstacles.
Ramayana Maasa Acharanam
During the Ramayana Maasa Acharanam at Kohinoor Sree Maha Ganapathi Temple devotees engage in a month-long observance dedicated to the epic Ramayana, typically in the Malayalam month of Karkidakam (July-August). One of the key rituals is the Ramayana Paarayanam, which involves the daily recitation of verses from the Ramayana. This practice is believed to bring spiritual benefits, peace, and prosperity to the devotees. Special poojas and offerings are also conducted during this period, creating an atmosphere of devotion and reverence for Lord Rama and the teachings of the Ramayana.
