The deity is depicted seated beneath the sacred Vata Vriksha (banyan tree), facing the south (dakshina) direction, symbolizing his role as the divine teacher who imparts spiritual knowledge.
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Navaratri Festival
Navaratri festival is celebrated with great devotion and a series of special rituals. Saraswathi Pooja is conducted to honor the goddess of knowledge, followed by Vidyarambham, a sacred initiation ceremony where young children are introduced to learning. Devotees offer paanakam (a sweet jaggery drink), perform Bhagavathi Seva, Pooja Veyppu (ceremonial keeping of books and tools for worship), and other traditional rituals to invoke blessings for wisdom, prosperity, and spiritual upliftment.
Krishna Janmashtami
Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated with devotion and festive spirit to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. The celebrations include special poojas, bhajans, and recitation of Bhagavatham, especially the stories related to Krishna's birth and childhood. Devotees, especially children dressed as little Krishna and Radha, participate in processions and cultural programs, and prasadam is distributed to all.
