This temple belongs to Sree Muthappan. Muthappan represents an integrated or unified form of two Gods, Lord Vishnu and Shiva. The annual festival of this temple falls in the Malayalam month of vrishchikam. It is a two days event.

കോയിലൊത്ത് മടാപുരശ്രീ múത്തപ്പൻ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ 2025-ലെ പുത്തരി തിരുവപ്പണ മഹോത്സവം നവംബർ/ഡിസംബർ (വൃശ്ചികം) മാസങ്ങളിൽ 2 ദിവസങ്ങൾ നീണ്ടു ആഘോഷിക്കും.
The festival in this temple is a two days event. The temple and premises are beautifully decorated. There are special poojas and offering on the starting day of the festival. From the first day evening onwards, ritualistic vellattu ( a form of theyyam, not actual one ) take place which lasts till second day morning. Gulikan, vellattu, muthappan vellattu etc are held. Second day "Thiruvappana " is performed as an offering to muthappan. It is a beautiful art form.
After that thalapoli procession takes place.
Thalapoli is a ritualistic procession of women and young girls holding thalams with flowers and lighted lamp in there hands. After thalapoli, thira ( actual theyyam ) starts which lasts until next day morning.These are the major events associated with this festival.
