Thalapoli Maholsavam
Thalapoli Maholsavam at Poyilkavu Sree Durgadevi Temple is celebrated in March with grand rituals and festivities. The festival begins with Kodiyettam, the ceremonial hoisting of the flag, marking the commencement of the celebrations. Thalapoli, a vibrant procession of women carrying traditional plates filled with offerings, follows, showcasing devotion and cultural heritage. The festival also includes Guruthi, a sacred ritual performed to appease and honor Goddess Durga, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of the devotees.
Navaratri
During Navaratri at Poyilkavu Sree Durgadevi Temple in Poyilkav, Koyilandi, Kozhikode, the festival is celebrated with great devotion and a series of elaborate rituals. The temple conducts Lakshmi Pooja to honor Goddess Lakshmi for wealth and prosperity, Durga Pooja to invoke the strength and protection of Goddess Durga, and Saraswathi Pooja to seek the blessings of Goddess Saraswathi for wisdom and knowledge.
