Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities in Hinduism, represents the destroyer aspect of the divine trinity, along with Brahma the creator and Vishnu the preserver. He is often depicted as a meditating ascetic, adorned with a crescent moon and the Ganges river flowing from his matted hair.
Lord Vishnu, another prominent deity, is revered as the preserver of the universe. He is known for his avatars, or incarnations, such as Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, who descend to earth to restore cosmic order and vanquish evil forces.
