Thira Mahotsavam
The Thira Maholsavam at Kolangattu Bhagavathi Temple is a five-day vibrant festival held in the Malayalam month of Dhanu. The celebrations include rituals like Ganapathy Homam, Kalavara Nirakkal, Vellattam, Thalapoli, and grand performances of Theyyam and Thira, attracting devotees and cultural enthusiasts alike.
Pookalasham
During the Pookalasham ritual, families warmly welcome the procession by standing along the route with traditional lamps (Nilavilakku). Near the temple, beautifully decorated structures and displays (Kettukazhcha) converge, creating a festive atmosphere. Accompanied by rhythmic traditional music and percussion, various ceremonial characters and performers enter the temple grounds in a vibrant celebration.
