തളിയിലുദ്ത്സവം 2025–26 തളിയിലെ ശ്രീ മഹാദേവ ക്ഷേത്രം 10-ദിവസത്തെ ആചാര്യപരമായ ചടങ്ങുകൾ, ശാസ്ത്രീയ സംഗീതം, പഞ്ചാരി മേളം, തിരുവാതിര, ഭക്തിമേഖലാ ആഘോഷങ്ങൾ എന്നിവകൊണ്ടുള്ള കേരളത്തിന്റെ സമ്പന്നമായ ക്ഷേത്രസാംസ്കാരിക പരമ്പരകളുടെ ഉജ്ജ്വല ആഘോഷമാണ്.

Thaliyil Shri Mahadeva Temple, located in the culturally rich district of Kottayam which celebrates its grand Thaliyil Utsavam 2025–26 that beautifully blends devotion, tradition, music and cultural heritage. This annual festival held from 25th December 2025 to 3rd January 2026 is a vibrant showcase of Kerala’s temple traditions and rituals attracting devotees from all over the region.
The festival begins each day in the early morning hours with Palliyunarthal, Purana Parayanam and Narayaneeya Parayanam setting a spiritual tone for the day. Devotees participate in Sreebali, Pantheeradi Pooja and other offerings accompanied by traditional Nadaswaram, Thavil and Panchari Melam, creating a devotional atmosphere that resonates through the temple premises. Prominent classical musicians and local artists contribute to Sopana Sangeetham, Bhajan sessions and complete recitations of the Gita, providing both spiritual enrichment and cultural entertainment.
Throughout the ten days, various special events are conducted including Shiva Purana and Sahasranama recitations, Devi Mahatmyam Parayanam, and Nritharchana. The festival also features Thiruvathira, Kaikottikali and Chilambattam, where women devotees actively participate, highlighting the rich participatory traditions of Kerala temples. Evening rituals include Deepa Aradhana and Deepakazhcha offering devotees the mesmerizing sight of the temple illuminated with countless lamps.
The festival reaches its grand culmination on 3rd January 2026, during Thiruarattu, the ceremonial holy bath of the deity in the temple pond accompanied by flag lowering, folk arts and Koodepuja allowing devotees to witness the divine spectacle. Throughout the Utsavam, each day also includes Prasada Oottu, distributing food to devotees as a mark of service and devotion.
Thaliyil Utsavam is not just a religious festival it is a celebration of Kerala’s temple arts, music and cultural heritage bringing together communities, artists and devotees in a shared spiritual and cultural experience.
