ശ്രീമദ് പാതാ ഭാഗവത സപ്താഹ യജ്ഞം 2025 ശ്രീ നാഗരാജ ക്ഷേത്രം കോട്ടയം | Srimad Patha Bhagavata Saptaha Yajnam 2025 Sree Nagaraja Temple Kottayam
Srimad Patha Bhagavata Saptaha Yajnam 2025 at Sree Nagaraja Temple Kottayam is a sacred week long spiritual festival dedicated to recitation and discourse of the Srimad Bhagavatam, one of the most revered scriptures in Hinduism. This festival is organized at the historic and renowned Sree Nagaraja Temple located in Kumaranalloor which is famous for its worship of Lord Nagaraja, the serpent deity and its deep-rooted traditions of devotion and community participation.
The Saptaha Yajnam will be held from December 13 to December 20, 2025 corresponding to 1201 Vrischikam 27 to Dhanu 5 in the Malayalam calendar. It marks the second consecutive year that this temple is hosting the elaborate Saptaha bringing together devotees from across Kerala and beyond. The yajnam is led by the distinguished Acharyas including Kalpakashseri Venu Moossat of Wandoor Malappuram with support from other learned co-acharyas.
Each day of the festival begins early in the morning with Radha Kripa Kadaksha Stotram, Sri Krishna Ashtottaram, Vishnu Sahasranamam, followed by community prayers. The main event is the Bhagavatam Parayanam and Prabhashanam which covers key episodes such as the lives of Krishna, his divine leelas, avatars of Vishnu and dialogues between sages like Uddhava and Narada. Devotional singing, recitation of hymns and explanations of philosophical teachings form the core of the spiritual proceedings.
The festival is enriched with traditional offerings such as Avalkizhi, Palpayasam, Thryamadhuram and other prasadam items which devotees can contribute for family well-being and prosperity. Each day also includes community meals and the festival concludes with a grand Maha Prasadam distribution. The festival emphasizes the transformative power of devotion, listening to sacred stories and collective prayer as a means of attaining spiritual solace and guidance.
Srimad Patha Bhagavata Saptaha Yajnam at Sree Nagaraja Temple is not just a religious observance but a cultural gathering that strengthens the sense of community among devotees. It provides an opportunity for spiritual learning, traditional rituals and participation in time-honored customs that have been practiced at this temple for generations. With a combination of ritual, devotion and music, this festival is a vibrant reflection of Kerala’s temple heritage and spiritual richness.
