കോട്ടയം, പക്കിൽ ശ്രീ ധർമ്മ ശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ തിരു ഉത്സവം, മാർച്ച്-ഏപ്രിൽ (മീനം) മാസങ്ങളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന 10 ദിവസത്തെ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവമാണ്, മഹത്തായ ആചാരങ്ങളും സാംസ്കാരിക പ്രകടനങ്ങളും ഊർജ്ജസ്വലമായ ക്ഷേത്ര ആഘോഷങ്ങളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.

Thiruvutsavam is the main festival celebrated in The Sree Dharmashastha Temple in Pakkil. It is conducted in the Meenam month of Malayalam calendar for a period of 10 days.
Uthram day in Meenam month is the birth star of Lord Dharmashastha(Lord Ayyappa) and this festival is devoted to him. believed that this temple is one of the eight temples established by Parasurama, the legendary founder of Kerala. One of the major attractions in this village is the Pakkil Sankranthi Vaanibham, an annual festival
of the sale of household articles. Huge crowds are seen during this festive occasion as devotees from around the state throng the temple to buy various household articles of their choice. The vaanibham (trade) is held on the premises of the temple. Sub deities are Malikapurath Amma, Lord Ganapathy, Lord Naga. This is the only place after Sabarimala to have Malikapurath Amma as deity.

The 10 day festival starts with the flag hoisting ceremony.
Special rituals are offered daily to Lord Ayyappa such as
Sreebali, Deeparadhana, Utsavabali etc. Every day lots of
very famous Cultural and Folk Arts are been organized and
it draws lots of people from various parts of the city.
Kadhakali, Ottamthullal, Chakiyarkoothu, Thiruvathira etc.
are performed. Aanayootu is been conducted, i.e. food is
been prepared and given to elephants of the respected
Temple society. Maha Prassadha Oote is conducted i.e.
giving traditional food to all the devotees present in the
temple. On the second last day is the Pallivetta, its an event
conducted in the seventh day of the festival and it is a
ritualistic royal hunt of the Lord to drive off the evil spirits.
Arattu is another main event in which the temple priest
carries the main deities to the holy water and takes bath.
And the festival ends with the flag downing ceremony.
