ചങ്ങനാശ്ശേരി കവിള് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ തിരുവുത്സവം, ഡിസംബർ മാസത്തിൽ വാർഷികമായി 10 ദിവസങ്ങൾ ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ആചാരങ്ങൾ, സാംസ്കാരിക പരിപാടികളും ഭക്തിസമ്പന്നമായ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളും ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന ഉത്സവമാണ്.

Kavil Bhagavathy Temple is the family temple of Changanassery Idam which is a main branch of Thekkumkoor Royal Family in the Vembalanadu. The main deity of the temple is Kavilamma which is an incarnation of Goddess Bhadrakali. Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma of Venad was ruling the region at Kollavarsham 925. At that time, the Thekkumkoor Royal family was declining and the temple was taken under Thiruvithamkoor Devaswom Board. The annual festival called Thiruvutsavam is conducted to celebrate the divine presence of Goddess Bhadrakali in the temple.

The festival starts with the ritualistic flag hoisting ceremony on the first day. From the next day onwards there are events like Utsavabali, Samooha Sadya being held. Arattu, procession, fire works and chenda melam are the main attractions of the festival. Cultural programs, Temple Arts,Folk Arts are staged during the festival period.
