കോട്ടയം ഇളംകുളം ശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ ജനുവരിയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ആറ് ദിവസത്തെ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവമാണ് തിരുവുത്സവം, ഊർജ്ജസ്വലമായ ആചാരങ്ങളും സാംസ്കാരിക പരിപാടികളും മഹത്തായ ഘോഷയാത്രകളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.

Elamgulam Sree Dharma Shastha Temple is a very famous temple in India, located in the state of Kerala. It is situated in the village of Elamgulam in Kottayam district. The annual festival conducted by the temple, with about 10 elephants, namely Gajamela, makes it more famous among the state. Thousands of pilgrims participates in this festival. The Annual festival is conducted here to celebrate the divine presence of Lord Dharma Sastha at Elamkulam.
Traditional performing arts, music and dance are staged during the period. Caparisoned elephants, melam, fireworks and sheevali are part of the festival. Gajamela is conducted in connection with the celebration of the festival. The temple is traditionally decorated with plantain, coconut leaves, flowers, leaves, traditional lamps and lights. Hundreds of people arrive on the day to witness various rituals and festivities. The festival ends with Arattu. The utsava murti of the deity is taken out of the shrine for ritual bathing on the final day. Caparisoned elephants and melam are part of the ritual. Kavadiyattom, Velakali etc also includes the events of the festival.
