Sree Dhanwanthari Prathishta Dinam 2026 at Thidamboor Mahadeva Temple, Kottayam is a significant religious celebration dedicated to Lord Dhanwanthari, the divine healer and presiding deity of Ayurveda in Hindu tradition.
The festival is marked by a series of traditional rituals and spiritual ceremonies conducted under the guidance of the chief priest, Thantri and supported by Brahmasree Suresh from Pallikkara Thazhathumana, with the main ritual responsibilities performed by the Namboothiri community. The highlight of the day is the Panchavimshathi Kalasha Abhishekam, a sacred ritual involving 25 kalashams filled with sanctified substances offered to Lord Dhanwanthari in a ceremonial bath symbolizing divine healing and rejuvenation.
Accompanying the abhishekam is the Dhanwanthari Pooja with Sopanageetham, a devotional musical offering performed in traditional Kerala temple style enhancing the spiritual ambiance of the festival. Devotees participate with deep devotion, offering prayers, lighting lamps and seeking the divine grace of Lord Dhanwanthari for health, protection from diseases and longevity.
