Theeyattu
The Theeyattu is a unique ritualistic performance that takes place at the Kuppedikkavu Devi Temple in Thottakom. It is a traditional form of worship where devotees believe that performers, usually from specific communities, become possessed by the deity's spirit during the enactment. The performers, known as Theeyattunis, undergo elaborate preparations and rituals before the performance, including fasting and purification ceremonies.
