
Renowned as one of the prominent Ganesh temples in the region, it is managed by the Sree Vinayaka Temple Trust. The temple houses a beautiful east-facing idol of Maha Ganapathy, installed in the 1990s. The Nalambalam walls are artistically adorned with images of Ashta Ganapathy and other deities. The temple's main festival is Vinayaka Chathurthi, celebrated in the Malayalam month of Chingam with great devotion.

The temple is situated approximately 10 kilometers southeast of the Ettumanoor–Pala highway and just 1 kilometer from Kidangoor junction on the Ettumanoor–Poonjar highway. Historically, Kidangoor was one of the 64 Brahmin villages of Kerala and marked the boundary of the Thekkumkur and Vadakkumkur kingdoms.
