Kadappattoor Mahadeva Temple is considered a sacred pilgrimage site for devotees of Lord Shiva. It holds significant religious importance and is believed to fulfill the wishes of devotees who visit the temple with faith and devotion.
The story goes that while Madathil Paachu Nair was cutting wood in the forest, he stumbled upon this remarkable stone idol of Lord Shiva. Struck by its uniqueness and divine aura, he recognized its significance and immediately informed the local villagers. Subsequently, the idol was installed in the Kadappattoor Mahadeva Temple, where it became the central deity of worship.

Pathamudayam
Pathamudayam refers to the tenth day of the waxing moon in the Hindu month of Medam (April-May). This day holds significance in certain regions, particularly in Kerala, where it marks the beginning of the annual festival season for several temples. Pathamudayam often heralds the commencement of grand festivities, cultural programs, and temple processions that continue for several days.
Mahashivaratri
During Shivratri, devotees observe fasts, perform rituals, and offer prayers to Lord Shiva. It is believed that sincere devotion and worship on this auspicious day can lead to the forgiveness of past sins and the attainment of spiritual liberation.
