Revathi Mahotsavam 2026 at Thrikonnamarkode Sree Bhadrakali Devi Temple is one of the most sacred and vibrant festivals in Kollam dedicated to the worship of Goddess Bhadrakali Celebrated with great devotion and grandeur, this festival holds a special place in the hearts of devotees, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil and the divine protection of the goddess over her devotees. The festival begins early in the morning with Nirmalyadarshanam, allowing devotees to view the sanctum in its purest state before the poojas. This is followed by Harinam Keerthanam, where groups of devotees sing devotional hymns and chants, filling the temple premises with a spiritually uplifting atmosphere. From 8:00 AM onwards, Bhagavatha Parayanam is recited, offering spiritual insight and devotion to the assembled devotees. One of the main rituals of the day is Kalashabhishekam conducted by the temple Thantri, Brahmashri Madhavarar Shambhu Potty of Kokkulam Matha. This ritual sanctifies the sacred pots invoking divine blessings for the welfare of the community.

At noon, the temple organizes Annadanam, a traditional community feast reflecting the temple’s spirit of service and generosity. In the evening, the Thiru Ezhunnellathu takes place accompanied by Muthukudams, Chamayavilakkus, Thalappoli performed by young girls, and traditional musical ensembles. This procession proceeds from the temple to the deity’s moolasthanam and back creating an atmosphere of divine celebration and devotion. A highlight of the festival is the Valiya Guruthi an annual offering performed to remove negative energies and seek spiritual protection, prosperity, and peace. Participating in this ritual is considered highly auspicious as it strengthens faith and devotion among the devotees. Revathi Mahotsavam not only fosters spiritual growth but also strengthens the sense of community, bringing together people from various backgrounds in a shared celebration of faith, tradition and cultural heritage.
