Thiruvutsavam is the most anticipated and vibrant festival celebrated at Pullunni Sree Mahavishnu Temple in Kollam. Observed annually, this festival brings together devotees, families and pilgrims from across Kerala and neighboring states to offer their prayers and participate in various religious and cultural activities.
The festival begins with the traditional flag hoisting ceremony which signifies the commencement of the festivities. Throughout the eight day period, the temple hosts a variety of rituals, including elaborate poojas, abhishekams, and special offerings to Lord Vishnu. Each day is dedicated to different forms of worship emphasizing the divine qualities and stories associated with the deity.
Devotees actively participate in these ceremonies seeking blessings for prosperity, health and spiritual growth.
Apart from the religious rituals, Thiruvutsavam is also a celebration of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.
