Thiruvutsavam at Thrippavumba Mahakshetram in Kollam is one of the most anticipated temple festivals in Kerala celebrated with deep devotion, grandeur and cultural vibrancy. The festival spans ten days beginning with ritualistic ceremonies and culminating in the spectacular Aarattu procession.  Thiruvutsavam 2026 at Thrippavumba Mahakshetram Kollam Kerala Each day of the festival is meticulously planned blending traditional worship with community participation and artistic performances, making it a spiritually uplifting and visually captivating experience for devotees and visitors alike. The festival opens with the Ganapathi Homam and Acharavedi invoking divine blessings and setting an auspicious tone for the days ahead. Throughout the festival, the Bhaghavatha Parayanam, a continuous recitation of sacred scriptures fills the temple premises with spiritual energy. Devotees actively participate in Annadanam, the offering of food to the community reflecting the spirit of charity and service that the temple embodies.

A highlight of the festival is the Thalappoli procession where women and girls carry lamps in beautifully decorated vessels, accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Chenda Melam, Panchavadyam and other traditional instruments. Elephants adorned with Nettipattam and elaborate decorations add a majestic charm, creating a colorful spectacle that attracts devotees from across the region. The festival also features a series of cultural programs including classical dances, folk performances, dramas and musical concerts, showcasing the rich artistic heritage of Kerala. The Aarattu, a ceremonial ritual bathing of the deities marks the culmination of the festival and is accompanied by a grand procession through nearby temples and streets drawing huge crowds who witness the divine spectacle with devotion and reverence.
