The Uchaara Mahotsavam and Mahaguruthi is one of the most spiritually significant annual observances held at the Chaalayil Kalari Sree Bhadrakali Temple located at Thekkan Mainagappally in Kollam district, Kerala. Dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali, who is revered as the embodiment of power, protection, compassion and auspiciousness, this sacred festival draws devotees from nearby villages and distant places alike. Traditional offerings such as payasam and palpayasam are made with devotion symbolizing gratitude and surrender to the Goddess. Evening rituals include Deepakazhcha and Deeparadhana during which the temple is illuminated with rows of lamps creating a serene and divine ambience.
