Ayiravilly Kaliyattam 2026 is a vibrant celebration of devotion, culture and traditional art forms held at the historic Ayiravilly Sree Mahadevar Temple in Kollam. This annual festival is one of the most awaited events in the region, attracting devotees, art enthusiasts and tourists from across Kerala and beyond.
The festival is deeply rooted in Kerala’s rich Theyyam tradition, where myth, music, dance, and ritual merge into a mesmerizing spectacle.
The festivities begin with the Oottu Pooja, a ritualistic offering of food to the deity, signifying prosperity, gratitude and blessings for the community. The temple premises are beautifully decorated creating a sacred and festive atmosphere inviting devotees to partake in spiritual and cultural experiences. Central to the celebrations is the Aayiravilly Kaliyattam, a traditional Theyyam performance led by expert artists following the Kozhikode lineage of performers.
