More than 600yeras old temple, the legend is that the Deity (No Idol) is the Guru of Dharma Sastha of the Temple named Shasthamkotta Temple about 35 kms meters away from the Ammachi veedu. Impressed by the marriage ceremony rituals conducted by Ammachi Veed elders Dharmasastha voluntarily gave the deity to the eldest in the family, who is now worshipped in the Temple as 'Brahma Rakshas, on the right hand side of the Deity. On behalf of the family Poojas (homages) have to be performed in Shasthamkotta temple on all auspicious occasions as a custom. The annual festival falls on Dhanu of every year but it is to be done after the Mandala Pooja is over. This fact gives ample proof that the deity has some relation with Dharmasastha and the members cannot go on pilgrimage to Sabarimala temple. The deity is worshipped by the name Moorthy Amma, which denotes the absence of an idol.

Spiritual discourses, cultural programs, and bhajans will be there. Several cultural programs like Kadhakali, drama, Music fest, Mohiniyattam etc also takes place during this period. A lot of business activities also will take place with many street vendors and mobile carts around the temple premise. On the 10th day of the the Karanavan conducts the pooja in the Kalam specially prepared for the purpose and boiled Ninam is offered to the diety. This is a rarest phenomena available in the temple. Sarpa Bali is also done in this temple. This is the only temple having this tradition.
