Thrikkodiyettu Maholsavam
The Thrikkodiyettu Maholsavam in the month of Makaram begins with the Thrikkodiyettu ceremony, marking the start of the festival with the traditional flag hoisting. During the festival, women devotees participate in the Pongala ritual, preparing special offerings to seek the deity's blessings, while the Arattu, a ceremonial bath of the deity, symbolizes purification and renewal. The festivities conclude with a grand Sadhya, a traditional feast that brings together devotees in a communal celebration of togetherness and gratitude.
Vinayaka Chathurthi
At Vellooppara Sri Maha Ganapathi Temple, Vinayaka Chathurthi is celebrated with great fervor. The festival includes Ganapathi Homam, a ritualistic fire offering dedicated to Lord Ganesha, performed to invoke his blessings for prosperity and removal of obstacles. Special poojas and the lighting of lamps (vilakku) are also conducted, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere for the devotees.
