The Moolasthana of this temple is the Koyikkalazhikathu Temple in Eravipuram, Kollam district. The main deity of the temple is Goddess Meenakshi, an incarnation of Durga and the divine universal mother, Adiparasakthi.
Surrounding the main sanctum are deities including Lord Ganesha and Yogeswara, with separate temples devoted to Lord Shiva (in Kiratha Bhava), Lord Dharmasastha, Kirathambika, Brahma Rakshas, Naga Raja, Naga Yakshi, and Yakshi.

Pooyam Maholsavam
During the Pooyam Maholsavam in the month of Meenam at Peroor Sree Meenakshi Temple, devotees participate in various rituals including Ganapathi Homam,for removing obstacles and Thrikkodiyettu, the ceremonial flag hoisting that marks the beginning of the festival. The festivities also feature Nirapara Samarppanam and Navagraha Pooja for the nine planetary deities, seeking their favor and protection. The celebrations culminate with Thalapoli, a procession of women carrying lighted lamps, and Ghoshayatra, a grand procession accompanied by traditional music, creating a vibrant and spiritually charged atmosphere.
Vinayaka Chathurthi
Vinayaka Chathurthi at Peroor Sree Meenakshi Temple includes the sacred Ganapathi Homam, a ritual fire offering dedicated to Lord Ganesha to invoke his blessings for wisdom and prosperity. As part of the celebrations, the Unniyappam Moodal ritual is performed, where devotees offer Unniyappam to Lord Ganesha, symbolizing devotion and seeking his favor. This combination of rituals highlights the significance of Lord Ganesha in removing obstacles and bestowing blessings upon the devotees.
