Panakkattodil Devi Temple Kollam

The Panakkattodil Devi Temple, situated in Chavara Thekkumbhagom village, Kollam district, Kerala, is dedicated to the primary deity, Durga.

Although the temple's exact origin lacks historical evidence, it is believed to be around 1000 years old. Legend has it that a Brahmin youth, upon arriving in Chavara Thekkumbhagom, collaborated with a skilled carpenter named Koyippurathu Nambeesan Aasari to construct the temple.

AltharamooddeviTemple Kollam

The base structure was erected by Nambeesan Aasari, and later, the Brahmin invoked Bhadrakali, leading to the temple's expansion and the influx of numerous devotees. The temple is situated on Valayaappallil Family's property.

The Thalappoli celebration during 'Meda Bharani' and the annual festival held in the months of April and May are highly popular events at the Panakkattodil Devi Temple. These occasions draw devotees from far and wide to partake in the festivities and seek the blessings of the deity.
