Thiruvathira, celebrated during the Dhanu month, is a festival marked by rituals like Ashtabhishekam (offering of eight substances to the deity), Kappu Kettu (tying protective threads around the wrists), Thiruvathira Samarppanam (devotional offerings), and Maha Mrityunjaya Homam (a fire ritual invoking Lord Shiva's blessings for health and longevity).
