Brahmakalashotsava is an annual festival involving ritualistic prayers with Kalashams (small metal pots) at the Kunjathur Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple, one of the ancient temples in Kerala.Legend has it that in Tretrayuga, Kharasura, a devotee of Lord Eshwara brought three Shivalingas. The one he carried in his right hand was established at Kunjathur. The temple is believed to be over a thousand years old and blessed with the divine presence of the Lord.

The festival is a combination of rituals and cultural programs. This includes Vedic rituals like Maha Pooje, Annasantarpane, Horekanike Meravanige from Udayavara Arasumanjistnar Temple etc. Bhajana Sankeerthane is also conducted in connection with the festival. Kalashabhisheka and Brahmaka/shabhisheka are the main events during the festival. Hundreds of devotees take part in the ceremonies and offer prayers for well-being and prosperity.
