The Ashtabandha Brahmakalasha Mahotsavam 2026 at Kanakavalappu Sri Dharmasastha Temple, Kasaragod is one of the most revered and auspicious events in the region attracting devotees from across Kerala and beyond.
This sacred festival is centered on the consecration of the temple deity through the traditional Ashtabandha ritual which involves the meticulous installation of the deity’s idol with eight sacred herbal and mineral pastes. Spanning February 22 to 28, 2026, the festival is celebrated with elaborate poojas, homams, abhishekams and other sacred rites performed by highly trained priests.
