Pātu Festival
Pātu Festival is the most unique and significant celebration at the Ubrangala Shri Mahadeva Parvathi Shri Shasthara Temple. Dedicated to Lord Shasthara (Ayyappa), this rare ritual festival is observed only in a few temples of Kerala. The festival is marked by traditional “Theyyampādi” artists who create large and vibrant ritualistic drawings of Lord Ayyappa using natural colors made from leaves and vegetable powders. These sacred artworks are accompanied by devotional singing known as “Pātu,” praising the deity with deep spiritual devotion. A major highlight of the festival is the ceremonial raising of the Ana-pandal in the outer courtyard, coinciding with the opening of the sanctum for the noon Mahāpooja on the final day, creating a visually and spiritually captivating experience.
Bhootha Bali Utsavam
Bhootha Bali Utsavam is another important ritual festival dedicated to Lord Mahadeva (Shiva) at the temple.
