The Kodiyettu Mahotsavam is an annual festival celebrated at the Sankara Narayana Temple in Ramanthali during the Malayalam calendar month of Meenam. The presiding deity of the temple believed to have been consecrated by Parashurama is Lord Sankara Narayana. The idol of the Lord is a six feet tall figure in Panchaloha. The right half side of the idol represents Lord Shiva while the left half represents Lord Vishnu. The east facing temple has a Gajaprishta Sreekovil and three poojas are conducted. The sub deity is Bhoothananda and main offering at the temple is Kadali (plantain).

The Kodiyettu Mahotsavam commences with the Kodiyettu or flag hoisting ceremony. Many devotees participate in the six days festival to offer prayers and seek the blessings of the Lord. Thidambu Nritham is the main attraction of the festival. Kalavara Nirakkal, Kolkkali, dance programmes, Bhajans, and religious speeches are some of the events spread over the first four days. On the fifth day, the ritualistic Ezhunellippu and Pallivetta ceremony are conducted to the accompaniment of traditional percussion music. On the last day of the festival, Palliunarthal and Prasadamoottu are conducted. The festival concludes with the 'Kodiyirakku ceremony.
