The Punah Pratishtha Karma 2026 at Kadalayitheru Shri Mahaganapathi Mandapam in Chirakkal, Kannur is a highly auspicious and spiritually significant event for devotees of Lord Ganesha. This sacred ritual, also known as the reinstallation ceremony, involves the meticulous reconsecration of the deity reaffirming the divine presence in the temple and renewing the spiritual energy of the sanctum.
The festival is scheduled from 22nd to 27th February 2026 and is expected to attract devotees and visitors from across Kannur and neighboring districts.
The festival begins on 22nd February with Kalavaranirakkal, the ceremonial placement of the decorative canopy followed by a grand Ghoshayathra where the idol is taken out amidst devotional chanting and traditional music. Throughout the six days of festivities, the temple will host a variety of cultural programs including classical and folk art performances, devotional music and dance recitals performed by renowned artists highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Kerala.
A key aspect of the festival is the Prasada Sadya, a traditional Kerala feast served to all devotees which symbolizes communal harmony, devotion and the sharing of divine blessings. The presiding Tantrikan, Brahmashree Kattumadam Ilayedath Eeshanan Namboothiripad will perform the rituals with precision ensuring that all ceremonies are conducted according to traditional Tantric customs.
