കണ്ണൂരിലെ ചെറുതാഴത്തെ മുണ്ടയാട്ടുകാവിൽ 5 വർഷത്തിലൊരിക്കൽ മാർച്ച്-ഏപ്രിൽ (മീനം) മാസങ്ങളിൽ നടക്കുന്ന 2 ദിവസത്തെ മഹത്തായ ഉത്സവമായ കളിയാട്ട മഹോത്സവത്തിന് ആതിഥേയത്വം വഹിക്കും, പരമ്പരാഗത തെയ്യം പ്രകടനങ്ങളും പുണ്യ ചടങ്ങുകളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു. 2015ലാണ് അവസാനമായി ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ നടന്നത്.

Mundayatt Kavu is a temple situated in Cheruthazham Panchayat. Mundayattu Bhagavathy is the main deity of the temple and is an incarnation of Goddess Bhadrakali who is believed to be resting after killing the mighty buffalo demon Darika.
Vishnumoorthi, Raktha Chamundi, Bhootham and Gulikan are the sub - deities of the temple. The temple is centuries old. The Kaliyatta Mahotsavam is conducted at the Mundayattu Kavu Temple once in five years in honor of Goddess Bhadrakali.

The festival starts with a ritualistic ceremony called
Theyyam to celebrate the festival. Thottam is a special
event which is held on the festival days. On the final day,
there is Guruthi which is a ritualistic ceremony and is an
offering conducted to praise the Goddess in the temple.
