Arathil Sree Bhadrapuram temple is one of the most important temples in Payyannur with more than 3000 years old history. In this temple Devi is worshipped in 4 forms- Durga, Mahalakshmi, Maha Saraswathy and Bhadrakali.
Kaliyatta Mahothsavam which takes place once in three years is a significant event of this temple. This festival is conducted to increase the vigour of the deity and to bring prosperity to the entire community.

The triennial Kaliyatta Mahotsavam at the Arathil Sree Bhadrapuram Temple is an ensemble of about 20 Theyyakkolangal. These comprise of Theyyams.of various heroic and divine figures and the performances are believed to ward off all evils and bring about prosperity. The festival is marked by various rituals and ceremonies like the Vilambara Ghoshayatra, Kalavaranirakkal, Kottipadal, Thottam, Guruthi etc. Annadanam or free food is also served to devotees as part of the festivities.
