About 200 years ago, a family named Kizhakke Veettukar started worshipping weapons in their place
near Kokkanisseri.
And later they started worshipping deities such as Kundor Chamundi, Kudiveeran, Gulikan in place of the weapons. In a later stage, they also started worshipping Bali and Vishnumoorthi. Goddess Kundor Chamundi is the main deity of the temple. Kudiveeran, Gulikan, Ball and Vishnumoorthi are the sub deities of the temple.
Kaliyatta Mahotsavam 2025 | Manu Acharimarude Devastanam Payyannur Kannur
The Kaliyatta Mahtsavam is an annual festival conducted in this temple
in honour of the main deity of the temple.The Kaliyattam Mahotsavam festival which is conducted once in three years during the Malayalam month of Makaram, starts with Sahasra Deepalankaram (lighting of thousand lamps) which is followed by Cultural meetings.The main event starts on the second day with Thottams and Bali Vellattam. On the final day, early morning, the Theyyams are staged which starts with Kudiveeran Daivam, Bali, Vishnumoorthi, Kundor Chamundi and Gulikan.
