The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Vishu Mahotsavam
This is the most important and grand festival of the temple and spans seven days. It begins on Vishu marking the traditional Malayalam New Year with the ceremonial hoisting of the temple flag at the start of the festival.
Chakyar Koothu
Though not a festival in the calendar sense, the performance of Chakyar Koothu during temple celebrations is a cultural highlight rooted in long-standing tradition at this temple. The Mani Chakyar family historically holds the exclusive right to perform this classical temple art form here and performances are an integral part of important ceremonial occasions.
Pattathanam
Pattathanam is another important temple function observed according to the Malayalam calendar on the day of Thiruvonam in the month of Makaram (roughly January–February). Though smaller compared to the Vishu Mahotsavam, Pattathanam holds ritual significance and typically includes special poojas and offerings that are part of the temple’s traditional observances.
