The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Vinayaka Chaturthi
Vinayaka Chaturthi, special poojas and rituals are conducted at the Sree Kakkamkovil Shiva Temple in Kannur, including the performance of Ganapathi Homam using 1008 coconuts. Devotees offer prayers and perform abhishekam (ritual bathing) to the idol of Lord Ganesha, seeking his blessings for prosperity, success, and the removal of obstacles. The Ganapathi Homam, conducted with elaborate Vedic rites and mantras, is believed to invoke the divine presence of Lord Ganesha and appease him for the fulfillment of wishes and desires.
Pradosha Vrutham
During Pradosha, a sacred time during the evening twilight or sandhya kala, the bull Nandi, the vahana (vehicle) of Lord Shiva, is worshipped in all Shiva temples across South India. Devotees observe Pradosha Vrutham, a vow of fasting and prayers, seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
