Kadalayi Sree Krishna Temple Kannur

The Kadalayi Sree Krishna Temple holds several legends from the Puranas, featuring an idol of Lord Vishnu worshipped by Sathyabama, consort of Lord Krishna in Dwaraka, mentioned in the Mahabharata.

According to one legend, when Sathyabama failed to notice Lord Krishna standing beside her during prayers, he kicked the idol, which was then found broken in the sea and later retrieved accidentally by a fisherman to Dwaraka.
