Azhipooja
At Veloor Sreedharma Shastha Temple in Udumbannoor, Thodupuzha, the Azhipooja is a sacred ritual observed with elaborate customs. A special pandal is erected, and fuels for the Aazhi are stacked in front of it. Camphor ignites the Aazhi, symbolizing Lord Ayyappa himself. Devotees then offer rice flakes, parched rice, coconut pieces, and other items into the blazing fire, representing the annihilation of desires by the flames of true wisdom.
