Sulthankada is a village in the Idukki district of Kerala, India. It is located between Pampupara and Anakkara on Kumily - Munnar highway.
The name Chittampara or Chittanpara is derived from Sidhan’s Para (Sage’s rock), which seems to refer to a Sage doing penance in the area. The famous Sidhi Vinayaka temple is a main attraction here.
All the deity face towards the East. The Main Deity is Sidhi Vinayakar, and sub-deities are Yoga Ganapathi, Nagaraja, Bhavani Devi, Sri Sasthavu. Devotees feel the presence of Siva & Parvathi here.
Festivals/Events
The temple did not attract many devotees earlier. In 1989, a small shrine was built, and the deity of Sidhi Vinayakar was installed. A beautiful deity of Ngarja is installed at His right and Karthikeya at His left. In 1991, the grand Kumbhabhishekam was performed by Vishveshwara Iyer from Chinnamannur. The prime festivals celebrated with great pomp are during Vinayaka Jayanthi and Sabari Mala pooja days.
