Thrikkarthika Maholsavam
During the Thrikkarthika Maholsavam at the Kaithakkulangara Bhagavathi Temple in Thodupuzha, Idukki, special significance is accorded to the Vishesha Deeparadhana, a unique ritual of lighting lamps. Devotees gather in large numbers to witness the spectacular display of illuminated lamps adorning the temple premises, creating a mesmerizing and spiritually uplifting ambiance. Mandalakala Pooja
The Mandalakala Pooja dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, observed during the month of Vrischikam (November-December), is a significant ritual conducted at Sabarimala and other Ayyappa temples. This ritual involves elaborate poojas, abhishekams, and offerings to the deity, seeking his blessings for spiritual growth and well-being. Devotees undertake fasting and penance during this period, culminating in the Makaravilakku festival, symbolizing the divine union of Lord Ayyappa with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati atop the Sabarimala hill.
