This temple is one of the rarest Gandharva temples in Kerala. Vaishnava Gandharva is the presiding
deity. This temple has more than 120 years old history. Once it was worshipped as a family deity, after generations passed the temple was taken over by SNDP trust. Since it is a Gandharva temple, the temple is famous for cultural events and arts.

The annual festival is celebrated in high pomp and grandeur. Annual festival of this festival falls in the Malayalam month of dhanu (December/January). It is a 3 days spectacular event. There is no flag hoisting ceremony, festival starts by Kalashapooja ceremony. The shrine is traditionally decorated with plantain, coconut leaves, flowers, leaves, traditional lamps and lights. There are special poojas and offerings during the festival period. Also annadanam is held on all days. Since it is a Gandharva
temple, cultural events has very much importance. Traditional performing arts and music and dance are staged during the period. Numerous cultural programs and temple arts are performed on all days of the festival.
